About SWBIC
Our Staff.
Meet Darwin, our 32-node Beowulf cluster.The Southwest Biotechnology and Informatics Center (SWBIC) provides a single-point access to a vast store of widely distributed biotechnology information as well as developing new educational and bioinformatics services. SWBIC encourages information sharing between researchers in Academia, Industry, Government, and the Department of Defense, promotes biotechnology in Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MIs), and provides training in biotechnology. SWBIC also supports biotechnology research at New Mexico State University and the local southwest region by providing computing and laboratory infrastructure and expertise to researchers. SWBIC was funded initially by Grant# DAAH04-96-1-0415 from the
US Army Research Office and is located at
New Mexico State University.
